Reflections from a Workshop that Shifted My Perspective on Personal Branding

Last Sunday I attended viewsxab workshop.

It was an intense day, dedicated to understanding several aspects of personal branding and how a well-crafted personal brand can take your life to places you can’t even imagine.

I must admit that for years I wanted to start a blog and share my notes, but I never did because I didn’t clearly see the value of making my online presence more intentional.

After being part of one of the many post-pandemic layoffs carried out by tech corporations, I started thinking about my next step and decided to return to consulting.

That’s when I realized I needed to work on my personal brand.

For a few months now, I’ve been publishing ideas and shaping my personal brand. When I heard about the workshop and its goals, I knew I had to attend.

It was a dynamic workshop — somehow 8 hours went by almost unnoticed! I left with several notes and ideas to put into action; here are some of them:
  • Likes don’t matter. The people who give the most likes are usually the least likely to buy.
  • The hardest part is recognizing the value we bring.
  • Showing off is good if it benefits you. Show off what really matters.
  • Avoid adding complexity, just do things.
  • People turn their heads when something stands out.
  • Consistency is key to achieving results.
  • Everything gets amplified through your personal brand.
I know some of these may seem obvious; however, when you reflect and process what they really mean, you realize there’s much more depth than it seems.

To close this post, let me share one of the phrases from the event that truly blew my mind:

“The quality of the questions we ask ourselves determines the quality of our lives; they reveal how far we can go.”
